Lockdown Week 6
It feels like a milestone we thought implausible 6 weeks ago when Ian closed the shop door on Mother's Day March 22nd but it was 6 weeks ago today. We, like everyone else knew that we would be told to close indefinitely the following day and it felt like a scary prospect indeed.
We have had huge ups and downs of course - personally and professionally over the 6 weeks weeks since but we have been busy too, very busy in fact.
We are updating the website daily with new categories, offers and blog posts, please click on the links below to read more.
We joined in the nationwide campaign displaying Rainbows of Hope and Olivia was the winner of our £20 creative gift voucher.
Orange Tuesday - usually we offer a 10% discount each Tuesday - but these are unusual times, so we are offering Archwaycard holders 10% off, everyday, just enter discount code ORANGE at the checkout.
We have jumped on board with the desire to use lockdown as a creative springboard, with a brand new category of Creative Gifts. We have celebrated the gorgeous sunny weather of our Easter stay-cation with a brand new collection of sunglasses In acknowledgement of all the Lockdown Birthdays we have created a brand new category on the front page, with a selection of Birthday Gifts for young children and newly listed a selection of birthday and greetings cards. We can usually deliver with in 24 hours with gift-wrap and even write personal note to go with the gifts.
We hosted a Virtual Pop Up and have created a new category based around this idea which gives you the spirit of a virtual tour of our shop.
We have collaborated with Jane at The Toy Project on an initiative asking our customers to make donations to children living in difficult situations due to Covid 19. The initiative has proved so popular we will keep it running another couple of weeks. Our first delivery of over £300 of toys generously donated by you, are going to be delivered this week. We will update the blogpost as soon as we have pictures. See the list of specific toys here. Please make sure you add a note at the end of the order to let us know if your order is a donation.
We also want to take this opportunity to shout out our favourite toiletries brand Fikkerts who generously donated 160 hand wash and 160 hand cream for the goody bags we were asked to help with for NHS Nightingale Trainees - read about it here
We have taken socially distanced walks with each other through the bluebell woods, baked bread for customers, done shopping and checked in on some living alone, if only for a cheery wave from afar - we really are missing our community.
We remain open for online orders only so please do reach out to us if there is something you need but can't find.
